goodypass.com's disruptive model brings celebrities and flash-marketing together, revolutionising the world of celebrity endorsements and redefining the relationship between celebrities and their fans. My role is to manage the celebrities that are part of the goodypass.com team, working with them and their agents to generate content for the site, and liaising with outside agencies and journalists to coordinate photoshoots and interviews for goodypass.com.
In order to gain an insight into the work of a public sector communications department, I undertook a period of pro bono work shadowing with the North Yorkshire and York Primary Care Trust - Community and Mental Health Services). Throughout this period, I was liaising with staff to gain a greater understanding of the role and function of communications, as well as gaining an understanding of how proactive media releases are drawn up. I was responsible for providing support for internal communications briefings, liaising with personnel on positive media topics, and developing draft press releases. One key area of responsibility was providing support on production of the annual report and summary documents - an important task as these documents form the legal underpinning for much of the PCT's work within the NHS. My work on this was the subject of formal praise by the Chairperson. During my time here I also learnt a lot about how an organisation facing enormous structural changes could adapt and redeploy key personnel whilst still maintaining the same level of service, and particularly how such redevelopment impacts on employees.
